After days of searching, the Brake family has received heartbreaking confirmation that both Robert Brake Sr. and Joni Kay Brake lost their lives in the July 4 floods in Central Texas.
The couple was swept away while staying at an RV park in Kerrville, their first visit there to celebrate the holiday with family. Their story has touched hearts worldwide, drawing widespread support and prayers.
While the Brakes’ children and grandchildren now begin to grieve with a sense of closure, they remain grateful for the kindness of strangers and the strength of their community.
With more than 120 lives lost and 170 still missing, the family urges continued prayers for others still searching for answers.
