DPS Launches No Refusal Season Through the Holidays.

Benbrook residents hitting the roads this holiday season should be aware that Texas DPS and area District Attorneys have entered their annual No Refusal period, running from November 26 through January 2.

During this time, anyone suspected of driving under the influence can be required to submit to blood testing, and arrests will follow for those who choose to drink and drive.

DPS is also rolling out its Operational CARE Initiative from November 26 to December 2, putting additional Troopers on highways to curb reckless driving during one of the busiest travel weeks of the year.

The message from state officials is clear: with rising crash numbers and preventable deaths, this season comes with a firm warning. If you drink and get behind the wheel, you will go to jail.
