Cougars Basketball Fall Just Short in a Tough Pre-Thanksgiving Battle.

Western Hills Cougars basketball came into Monday’s matchup hoping to shake off a long skid and snag a win before the holiday break.

Instead, the Cougars found themselves in another tight finish that slipped just out of reach. Trimble Tech edged them 41 to 37, handing Western Hills its sixth straight loss dating back to last season.

The game carried a little extra charge. Trimble Tech clearly remembered the loss they took the last time these two teams met in December 2024, and they showed up determined to return the favor. Western Hills kept it close the entire way and fought until the final seconds, but four points made the difference in what felt like a winnable game.

The Cougars now sit at 0-4 and have little time to regroup. They return to the court today, Tuesday, November 25, at 1:00 p.m. for a quick turnaround against a strong O. D. Wyatt Chaparral squad.

Western Hills families can support the team and stay up to date on school athletics by contacting the athletics office at whhsinfo@fwisd.org or visiting www.fwisd.org.
