Western Hills Cougars golf is only two tournaments into the season, but the tone is already clear. This group is learning fast and putting in the work.
Most of the roster is new to the sport. For many players, this is their first time holding a club. Still, they are focused on the fundamentals that matter most.
Short game. Course management. Cutting strokes one swing at a time. It is steady progress, and it shows.
Golf has a way of teaching patience and discipline. It is also a game these students can carry with them long after high school. Right now, they are building habits that go beyond the scorecard.
This week brought a boost from the broader Benbrook community.
The Benbrook Police Department stopped by to donate two full sets of golf clubs to the program, giving more students access to the equipment they need.

Coach Yeager helped coordinate the effort and continues to invest his time in helping the team grow.
Cougar Golf may be young and developing, but it is moving in the right direction. With community support and a roster willing to learn, the foundation is being set for something lasting.
