Car Fire Slows Traffic Near 2871 and I-20, No Injuries Reported.

A mid-afternoon car fire caused a stir near the 2871 exit to I-20 Westbound today.

Around 3 p.m., what looked like a mid-2010s Volvo XC60 caught fire at the northwest intersection. The cause hasn’t been confirmed, but everyone inside got out safely.

Drivers were encouraged to reroute via US 377 instead of taking 2871 to I-20. By about 3:30, the backup had eased up, and crews had fully cleared the scene by 3:40. The Fort Worth Fire Department and Sheriff’s deputies acted quickly to keep the fire safe.
