Bright Green Fireball Streaks Across the Benbrook Sky.

Benbrook residents looked up Tuesday evening to an unexpected show in the northwestern sky.

Just before 7:30 pm, a bright green meteor flashed overhead, leaving a vivid streak that lit up the night for anyone lucky enough to be watching.

One resident’s home camera caught the fireball racing across the sky, and the excitement quickly spread as others confirmed they had seen it, too. A driver headed toward Wichita Falls shared that the glowing trail looked like a ball of fire cutting across the horizon.

While meteors aren’t uncommon this time of year, sightings this bold and colorful tend to spark a little extra wonder. It was a brief moment, but one that reminded many in Benbrook how often the sky surprises us.
