Brief EF-1 Tornado Touches Down in Irving.

Irving, TX — Early Tuesday morning, a brief EF-1 tornado with peak winds of 110 mph swept through Irving, leaving behind a trail of damage but fortunately no injuries.

The twister, confirmed by a National Weather Service survey team, cut a path of 0.42 miles, starting near Pecan Drive and ending between Cedar Drive and North O’Connor Road.

Tree Country Apartments bore the brunt of the storm, with roof damage to nearly every building. Nearby, the Learning Tree Academy and the Irving Police Family Advocacy Center also suffered significant roof damage. Falling trees struck a vehicle, but no one was hurt.

The tornado was part of a larger wind event that pummeled North and Central Texas with winds reaching up to 85 mph. Survey teams plan to assess additional damage in Wise and Hopkins counties. Residents are urged to stay alert as recovery efforts continue.
