The Benbrook Bobcats boys golf team competed against several strong regional programs this week at the Millsap Bulldog Invitational, held at Holiday Hills and Sugartree, and turned in a solid performance.
Benbrook finished fifth overall in the tournament with a team score of 344, competing against schools from several classifications across North Texas. The event gave the Bobcats a chance to test their lineup and gain valuable experience as the season approaches district play.
Several Benbrook golfers posted competitive individual rounds during the tournament.
Seth James, a sophomore, finished tied for 10th place with a round of 81. Junior Brady Peloquin also finished tied for 10th with a score of 81, giving Benbrook two players inside the top group of the leaderboard.
Sophomore Asher Rotman finished tied for 35th with a round of 88, while sophomore Jaxyn Donart carded a 94 to place 49th. Freshman Karsten Wanzor rounded out the Bobcats’ lineup with a score of 97, finishing 58th.
Golf tournaments often come down to steady play over every hole, and the Millsap Invitational provided another step forward for the Benbrook squad as the season continues.
