Benbrook baseball is starting to find its rhythm at the right time.
Coming off a strong district opener against Diamond Hill-Jarvis, the Bobcats returned Friday night and delivered another statement win, defeating Diamond Hill-Jarvis again 12-2 in run-rule fashion.
The game did not start clean. An early error gave the Eagles a quick lead, and they briefly went back in front in the third. But the Bobcats stayed composed and responded when it mattered.
Sebastian Martinez-Colon set the tone. On the mound, he struck out 14 batters across six innings, limiting the Eagles to just two runs. At the plate, he sparked the offense with a home run to left that helped settle things early.

From there, the Bobcats took over. Timely hits in the third inning flipped the lead, and a steady buildup in the fifth created separation. The sixth inning put the game away, highlighted by Hudson Stocktonโs three-run double, along with key hits from Ethan Tucker and Jack Mahaney.
The Bobcats finished with 11 hits, showing balance throughout the lineup. Stockton led with three runs batted in, while multiple players contributed at the plate and on the bases.
The win moves the Bobcats to 2-0 in district play and into first place, with momentum building as they prepare for a two-game set against the Southwest Raiders next week.
For a team still shaping its identity, this stretch is starting to look like something to watch.
