Benbrook fans got something to cheer about today as the Bobcats shook off Tuesday’s tough loss to Cleburne and delivered a strong bounce-back performance in tournament play.
History had not been kind to Benbrook in matchups with Alvarado, dropping the last six meetings. But the Bobcats left all of that behind with a sharp and decisive 63–48 win, flipping the script on a rivalry that had been one-sided for too long. It also served as a bit of redemption after last year’s one-point heartbreaker, losing 50-51.
With the victory, Benbrook improves to 6–5 on the season, finding some needed momentum in the early stretch. The Bobcats are set to tip off against Gatesville tonight at 7:15 p.m.
Benbrook fans will be watching closely to see if this new spark carries into the evening matchup.
