Benbrook’s Slater Named Chicken Express Community Hero Finalist.

A Benbrook High School student is receiving statewide recognition for making a difference in her community.

Randee Slater, a recent Class of 2026 graduate, has been named one of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Chicken Express Community Heroes, an honor that highlights students who demonstrate outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to those around them.

The recognition also places Slater in the running for the Female Chicken Express Community Hero of the Year Award. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship from Chicken Express to help continue their education after high school.

Community members can learn more about Slater’s story by watching her featured video“Community Hero Spotlight Video.”

Voting is now open through June 18 and is unlimited, allowing supporters to vote as often as they’d like. Residents are encouraged to rally behind the Benbrook student and help spread the word throughout the community.

Congratulations to Randee on this honor and recognition! Recognition like this serves as a reminder that some of the community’s biggest impacts are often made by students quietly serving others and leading well where they are.
