Shoppers at the Benbrook Walmart may have noticed a mysterious fenced-off section of the parking lot in recent weeks.
The wait is over: those blue-wrapped kiosks are the area’s newest electric vehicle charging stations.
For nearly two months, speculation ran wild over what the project might be.
Some thought drone delivery, others guessed a new Murphy’s gas station. Instead, Walmart has installed eight charging units, indicating that Benbrook drivers can soon shop and charge their vehicles at the same time.
The stations aren’t active just yet, and Walmart hasn’t announced when they’ll officially open. Curious residents can check in with employees for updates.
