A Benbrook Elementary student is gaining attention after stepping into the kitchen and holding her own among some of Fort Worth ISD’s top young chefs.
Chloe Copeland represented Benbrook Elementary at the Future Chefs National Challenge, where students from first through fifth grade were given one hour to prepare a full dish for judges. Her entry, spring rolls, stood out in a field that was both competitive and creative.
The event brought together students from across the district, each presenting meals judged on taste, presentation, creativity, and how well the dish connected with young eaters. Crystal Allen of Christene C. Moss Elementary earned first place, but the competition remained close from start to finish, with several standout dishes across the board.
For Benbrook, Chloe’s performance reflects the kind of talent and confidence growing inside local classrooms. Moments like this show how students are learning to think creatively, take initiative, and share something personal through their work.
Photos from the event can be viewed on Fort Worth ISD’s Facebook page.
As these young chefs continue to grow, it is clear the future of the kitchen is already taking shape, one student at a time.
