Benbrook Police Offer House Watch for Holiday Peace of Mind.

โ€ข

With the holidays here and travel picking up, the Benbrook Police Department is reminding residents about a simple way to keep their homes a little safer.

The House Watch program lets homeowners alert police when they will be away for a short period, giving officers the chance to check on the property while they are gone.

It works like this: residents fill out a short form with details such as travel dates, vehicles on the property, pets, and emergency contacts. That information is given to patrol officers, who add the home to their list for extra drive-bys and checks during the homeownerโ€™s absence.

The form can be found on the cityโ€™s website, but it must be turned in at the police station at 1080 Mercedes St. Itโ€™s a simple step that can add comfort during a season when scams and theft often increase.

For questions or details about the program, call the Benbrook Police Department at 817-249-1610.
