It has been a tense week at Benbrook Middle-High School. Earlier in the week, a substitute teacher was removed for inappropriate conduct. Now, just before dismissal today, parents were alerted again—this time about a campus hold.
According to a text message sent by the school, the brief lockdown was triggered after a report of a weapon was received. Administrators quickly confirmed that the item was an airsoft gun, not a firearm, and emphasized that there was no threat to students or staff. The airsoft gun was confiscated without incident.
Parents are awaiting further details, with additional information expected to be shared by Fort Worth ISD through email updates.
This remains a developing story, and Benbrook Life will provide updates as more information is released by school and district officials.
