A new chapter in inclusive programming is underway at the Benbrook Public Library following the successful debut of its first AAC Storytime, held over the weekend.

The program marks a meaningful step toward creating a welcoming space for children and young adults who use Augmentative and Alternative Communication.

Library staff shared their excitement about partnering with families and participants as they begin building a supportive community centered on communication, connection, and belonging. The program is designed for ages 3 to 21 and will be offered monthly on the last Saturday of each month.

Registration for the next AAC Storytime opens on February 14, giving families a chance to plan ahead and join this growing initiative.

The Benbrook Public Library is located at 1065 Mercedes St in Benbrook. For more details about AAC Storytime and other upcoming programs, visit https://www.benbrooklibrary.org, email reference@benbrooklibrary.org, or call 817-249-6632.
