Anyone driving past the Benbrook Fire Department on Thanksgiving Eve may have caught a fun sight.
Before settling in for their annual holiday meal, A shift of firefighters was outside getting in a workout, building up an appetite before the station’s big dinner.
Once the training wrapped, the crew and their families gathered for a full Thanksgiving spread. The table held a smoked turkey, a deep-fried turkey, a ham, and all the classic sides, topped off with apple pie and banana pudding. It was a moment of good food, laughter, and a reminder that holiday traditions look a little different for those who serve the community around the clock.
The department shared their gratitude for everyone who cooked, contributed, and made the evening feel like home. Residents can see photos and videos of the celebration on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064256632303.
