BENBROOK, TX — What started as a classic classroom challenge turned into something much bigger last Tuesday, thanks to a little help from the Benbrook Fire Department.
Students put their creativity to the test, building protective designs to keep eggs from cracking on impact. But instead of a simple drop from a desk or ladder, firefighters raised the stakes, literally, by dropping the eggs from the aerial ladder of Truck 53.
The result was part science experiment, part community moment. Some designs held strong, others did not, but the excitement was shared across the board as kids watched their work face the ultimate test.
Firefighters joined in the fun, helping coordinate the drops and encouraging students along the way. Events like this give students a hands-on way to learn while also connecting them with the people who serve their community every day.
It was a simple idea, lifted a little higher, and for those who were there, it is one they will likely remember for a long time.
