The Benbrook City Council will meet Thursday, September 4, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 911 Winscott Road. Residents are encouraged to attend and take part in shaping the community’s future.
The evening begins with citizen comments, followed by approval of minutes from the August 21 meeting. From there, the council will focus on several key items.
Zoning and Development
The Planning and Zoning Commission will present Ordinance PZ-2025-04, which proposes updates to the process for communicating zoning changes to residents. If passed, applicants, not just the city, would be responsible for posting on-site notice signs for zoning map amendments.
City Manager Reports
Two major agreements are on the table:
- Atmos Energy Settlement: Council will review Resolution G-2709, which approves a negotiated settlement between the Atmos Cities Steering Committee and Atmos Energy’s Mid-Tex Division regarding the 2025 Rate Review Mechanism. The settlement outlines new rates and related financial benchmarks.
- Rabies Control Partnership: Resolution G-2710 proposes renewing an interlocal agreement with the City of Fort Worth for rabies control and testing, ensuring continued access to regional animal services.
Public Hearings
The evening will also include two public hearings—one on the proposed property tax rate for 2025, and another on the city’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year, 2025–2026. These hearings provide residents the chance to share their perspectives directly with council members.
The meeting will close with informal citizen comments, council reflections, and staff updates.
