Benbrook, TX — Not even fierce winds could slow down the Benbrook Lady Bobcats, who stormed past the Eastern Hills Lady Highlanders with an 8-0 shutout in a district soccer match last night.
Leading 5-0 at halftime, the Lady Bobcats kept their foot on the gas to secure the blowout victory. Their season record now stands at an impressive 15-3-1, with a spotless 11-0 in district play, holding them comfortably at the top of the standings.
Sydney Chavez was the star of the night, earning Player of the Match honors with a hat trick. Lily Chavez added two goals, while Randee Slater, Lexi Garcia, and Grace Klaerner each found the back of the net to complete the dominant performance.
The Benbrook Bobcat boys team also handled business, edging out the Eastern Hills Highlanders 2-1. The victory boosts their record to 8-10 overall and 6-5 in district, securing them a spot at fourth place in the standings.
