A local favorite is saying goodbye as Love Local Coffee and Art prepares to close on April 30.
After five years of serving handcrafted coffee and showcasing local artists, the shop in Overton Park Plaza is shutting down due to rising rent costs.
Owner Sara Tucker opened the shop in 2020, hoping to build a strong coffee culture in southwest Fort Worth. Despite its loyal customer base, steep rental increases made it difficult to sustain operations. While the closure is bittersweet, Tucker is setting her sights on a new coffee venture outside of Texas.
Until the final farewell, the shop is hosting a garage sale and will close its doors for the last time at 4 PM on April 30. Fort Worth may be losing a cherished community hub, but Tucker’s next coffee adventure is just beginning.
