He reflected on what it means to see his youngest complete a full year as a Gunner’s Mate and to watch his oldest graduate as a Boatswain’s Mate on November 20.
As the son of Mexican immigrants who went on to earn three college degrees and serve twenty-one years on active duty, Chico sees his sons’ accomplishments as both personal and deeply American.
