If you’re hoping to hit the beach in Benbrook, be prepared for a bit of a reality check. While Benbrook Lake offers scenic views and a few access points, it’s not exactly a beach destination.
Baja Beach does exist, but it’s more of a fishing spot. It requires a $25 key to enter, and it’s not recommended for swimming due to hooks and fishing lines in the water. Signs usually back that up.
For a safer splash or day out by the water, locals often head to nearby Benbrook Marina, South Holiday Park, or Mustang Park off 1187. Both offer water access for a small fee, and South Holiday only charges $5 by card. Longhorn Park is another option and it’s free, though don’t expect sandy shores.
Bottom line: Benbrook has lakeside charm, but if you want a true beach vibe, consider driving out to Lake Granbury. It has a man-made public beach and doesn’t cost a thing.
