A new sport is rolling into Benbrook Middle-High School this year.
BMHS has approved competitive high school bowling for the 2026-27 school year, giving students another way to represent the Bobcats while competing against other high school teams.
Both boys’ and girls’ varsity and junior varsity teams are forming, with all skill levels welcome. Bowlers will have opportunities to compete in tournaments and potentially advance to regional and state competition.
And this is more than a casual trip to the lanes. Students can work toward earning a varsity letter and letter jacket, and competitive bowling can also open opportunities for college scholarships.
Tryouts begin this weekend, with sessions Saturday and Sunday.
Students interested in joining the first BMHS bowling teams can contact Coach Shaw at 903-946-1147 for tryout details and additional information.
For a brand-new Bobcat program, the first frame is about to begin.
