Twenty-five years later, the lessons of September 11 are being passed to a generation that knows the day only through history.
Waverly Park Elementary students recently took time to remember the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001, while honoring the service members and first responders who continue to serve their communities today.
The school thanked Principal Beata and Coach Grames, who helped put together the tribute and gave students an opportunity to reflect on the courage and sacrifice shown that day.
For these young students, remembering also means learning why the day still matters 25 years later.
