Benbrook, TX – Western Hills High School’s robotics team made an impressive debut this year, competing against 95 teams from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas.
In their first-ever competition, the team showcased their skills in a marketing challenge, presented a professional exhibit, and went head-to-head in driving and engineering contests with their robot, S.T.E.V.
Their efforts paid off as they secured one of the top 4 spots for their engineering notebook—worth 30% of the overall points—earning a $200 Home Depot gift card to help build for next season. Making it to the state level was a remarkable achievement, putting the team on the radar for the future.
