The Western Hills High School Robotics Team made a remarkable debut at the state level last week.
Faced with 95 teams and nearly 1,000 competitors from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arkansas, the WHHS team showcased its talent, innovation, and determination in a challenging, multi-faceted competition.
Over the four-day event, the team excelled in a marketing challenge, built a professional exhibit, interviewed engineers, and showcased their robot, S.T.E.V. Their efforts earned them a top-four engineering notebook award and a $200 Home Depot gift card to support next yearโs robotics field.
This milestone marks WHHS Robotics’ first state-level appearance, showcasing their dedication and teamwork. Special thanks to teachers, staff, the FWAS program, and leaders Mrs. Maas and CTE teacher Rustin Pennington for their support and guidance.
The Benbrook community celebrates Western Hills’ afterschool team for their STEM achievement. With ambitious goals ahead, WHHS Robotics is set for a bright and promising future.
