Backpacks are packed, alarms are set, and Waverly Park Elementary is ready to welcome its Tigers back Monday. For families, knowing the first-day routine should make arrival and dismissal a little easier.
Morning arrival begins at 7:20 a.m., with classroom doors opening at 7:30 a.m. Students may enter through the main or library doors. Pre-K and kindergarten families may walk students to class during the first two days, but all parents must leave by 7:40 a.m. so learning can begin.
For carline drop-off, families should enter from Bandera, continue to Bangor, and exit onto Cimarron. Students should exit from the passenger side only, and parents should remain in their vehicles.
For afternoon dismissal, walk-up families should park near the library or use the Grace Church parking lot. Car pickup begins at 3:30 p.m. near Tiger Paw. Families should have their student pickup card visible.
School staff are also asking families for a little patience during the first few days as everyone learns the routine. A few extra minutes and a little patience should go a long way toward getting Waverly Park’s new school year off to a good start.
