Drivers heading west of Benbrook encountered delays Tuesday afternoon after traffic signals at the U.S. 2871 and Interstate 20 interchange stopped working.
The issue was first reported around 4:23 p.m., with traffic backing up on southbound U.S. 2871 and the I-20 service road. Motorists were urged to avoid the area while crews worked to restore normal operations.
Several drivers noted that traffic continued moving by treating the intersection as a four-way stop, while others experienced significant delays approaching the interchange.
By 5:00 p.m., the traffic signals were back in service and normal traffic flow had resumed. Drivers traveling through the area should no longer expect delays related to the outage.
