Search Continues for Missing Man at Benbrook Lake.

The search for a missing man at Benbrook Lake resumed Sunday after an extensive effort Saturday was hampered by strong winds and rough water.

As Benbrook Life first reported shortly after 1 p.m. Saturday, emergency crews responded to reports of a possible water rescue near North Holiday Park. Early radio dispatch traffic indicated two people and a dog had been aboard a boat. One person reportedly made it safely to shore and spoke with deputies, while the other was unaccounted for.

Texas Game Wardens later confirmed they were searching for a missing adult male in the northeast portion of Benbrook Lake near Longhorn Park Drive. According to witnesses, two men entered the water to help a child. One resurfaced, but the other did not.

Texas Game Wardens, members of the Underwater Search and Recovery Team, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers searched throughout Sunday. Officials said high winds and submerged trees made conditions especially challenging, slowing search efforts.

The search is scheduled to resume Monday, June 29, at approximately 8 a.m.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for more updates as more information becomes available.
