Early Morning Crash Damages Benbrook Monument Sign.

A late-night crash left one of Benbrook’s landmark signs heavily damaged late Friday night into early Saturday morning.

According to dispatch information reported by CrimeRadar, emergency crews responded around 12:09 a.m. on June 20 to a major single-vehicle crash near Benbrook Stables along Benbrook Boulevard.

Witnesses reported seeing a gray-ish white four-door sedan traveling at a high rate of speed before it apparently struck a light pole and the Benbrook monument sign at the corner of U.S. 377 and Creekside Drive.

The crash reportedly caused minor damage to the light pole but significant damage to the monument sign. Witnesses also reported that the driver suffered head injuries.

Multiple police officers and medical units responded to the scene. No roadway debris was reported at the time, and traffic impacts appeared limited.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the driver’s condition or what may have led to the crash. The cause remains under investigation.
