After several days of public discussion surrounding a recent news report, David Parker, husband of Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker, is offering his side of the story.
In a social media post shared ahead of the holiday weekend, Parker said he wanted to provide additional context regarding his work as a registered Texas lobbyist and the clients associated with his firm. He noted that both he and Mayor Parker responded to media inquiries before publication and emphasized that information about his lobbying activities has long been publicly available through required filings with the Texas Ethics Commission.
Parker, who has worked as a registered lobbyist for more than 20 years, said his firm goes beyond state requirements by registering all firm members for every reportable client as part of its commitment to transparency.
A key point of his statement involved the Data Center Coalition, a Virginia-based trade organization that has been a client of his firm since 2023. Parker stated that he has never personally received compensation from the organization, met with its employees, or represented the group in meetings or external conversations. He also said the coalition has never been involved with the City of Fort Worth to his knowledge.
Parker’s response comes after questions were raised regarding lobbying disclosures and client relationships connected to his firm’s work. In his post, he encouraged residents to read beyond headlines and review the full details available through public records and reporting.
As public scrutiny continues, Parker’s message serves as a reminder that transparency, context, and access to public records remain important parts of any conversation involving public officials and those connected to them.
