A loud afternoon storm may have done more than rattle windows in Benbrook.
According to reports from the CrimeRadar app, Benbrook fire crews responded around 2:36 p.m. Tuesday to a possible structure fire near Hale Court after lightning was believed to have struck a residential garage.
Initial concerns centered around a possible attic or garage fire following the strike. However, after crews arrived and inspected the home, responders reportedly did not locate any active flames.
Neighbors in the area reported seeing emergency vehicles responding shortly after the storm moved through the community.
At this time, no injuries have been reported, and the extent of any potential damage remains unclear.
With North Texas storm season continuing, fire officials often remind residents that lightning strikes can occasionally cause hidden electrical or attic-related issues that may not immediately show visible flames.
This remains a developing story, and additional updates will be shared as more information becomes publicly available.
