Last Wednesday felt a little different inside Western Hills High School.
Hallways were filled with college shirts, proud families, excited teachers, and seniors officially announcing where life will take them next during Decision Day for the Class of 2026.
And this year’s class is heading everywhere.
From Ivy League campuses to military service, engineering programs, medical training, music schools, athletics, and business programs, Western Hills seniors showcased a wide range of futures waiting just beyond graduation.
Among the major announcements, Dai’Juan Williams shared he will attend Dartmouth College to study Sociology with a minor in Public Policy, while Vianet Garcia will attend Barnard College at Columbia University on a pre-med Neuroscience track.
Creative talent was also on display as Celestiana Valles announced plans to attend Pratt Institute for Communicative Design and Illustration.
Several students are continuing athletic careers alongside academics, including Addison Dudley, who will play college softball at Southwestern College, and Joshua Oliver, who will continue football at Texas Wesleyan University.
One senior, Nana, announced plans to serve in the U.S. Army as a Multiple Launch Rocket System Repairer.
And many more seniors are pursuing engineering, education, kinesiology, business, architecture, and music at schools including the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Texas at Arlington, Texas State University, the University of Oklahoma, and Texas Wesleyan University.
Decision Day often lasts only a few hours, but the moment represents years of work behind the scenes. Applications, essays, late-night studying, financial aid forms, practices, performances, encouragement from teachers, and support from families all helped shape the paths these students are now stepping into.
Additional senior announcements can be viewed on Western Hills Class of 2026 Decisions Instagram page, and photos from the event are available on the Cougar Pride Alliance Facebook page.
