Bobcat Athletes Attend FWISD Leadership Conference.

Athletics may begin with competition, but for a group of Benbrook Middle-High School student-athletes, last week was focused on something bigger than the scoreboard.

Nine Bobcat athletes recently represented Benbrook at the Fort Worth ISD Athletics Student Leadership Athlete Conference, joining students from across the district for conversations centered on leadership, teamwork, communication, and personal growth.

The conference challenged athletes to think beyond game day and consider the kind of leaders they are becoming in their schools, locker rooms, and community.

Representing the Bobcats were Hana Brown, McKinzie Brookshier, Aiden Carpenter, Lily Chavez, Zoe Clark, Jaxyn Donart, Grace Klaerner, and Grant Warren. Braden King, who serves on the BMHS student leadership council, was unable to attend due to an AP exam commitment.

Coaches and supporters praised the students for stepping into an opportunity designed to build character alongside athletic ability. While championships and highlight plays often get the attention, events like this reflect another side of student athletics that matters just as much.

Leadership is not built only under stadium lights. Sometimes it grows in conversations, accountability, and the willingness to represent your school well, long before the next season begins.
