BENBROOK, TX — A familiar stretch of Lake Shore Drive saw a temporary shutdown earlier today as rising water closed the low water crossing.
As of 9 a.m., city officials had gates in place and advised drivers to use alternate routes while water levels remained high. By mid-afternoon, conditions improved, and by 12 p.m., the crossing was reopened and accessible again. It was a brief interruption, but a reminder of how quickly conditions can shift on familiar roads.
Situations like this are not uncommon after rainfall, and closures can happen quickly depending on water levels. Drivers are encouraged to use caution in the area and avoid crossings when gates are down.
