Tucked inside Timber Creek Park, a quiet corner of Benbrook is getting ready to come alive again, one garden bed at a time.
The Benbrook Community Gardens is now accepting new gardeners for the 2026 season, offering 16-by-4 raised plots for residents who want to grow their own food, learn new skills, or simply spend more time outdoors.
For an annual fee of 55 dollars, gardeners have access to water, shared tools, and a limited supply of organic materials. It is a simple setup, but one that has helped build a steady sense of community among those who take part.
The garden also hosts a monthly meeting on the second Saturday, giving participants a chance to connect, share tips, and grow together.
For many, it is not just about what is planted. It is about slowing down, working with your hands, and seeing something take shape over time.
Residents interested in reserving a plot or learning more can reach out at benbrookgardens@gmail.com.
As the season begins, the invitation is open. Grab a spot, dig in, and be part of something growing right here in Benbrook.
