Explosion Reported in Timbercreek, No Injuries Confirmed.

A quiet Friday morning was shaken just before 10 a.m. when a loud explosion echoed across parts of Benbrook and southwest Fort Worth, from Winscott Road to Hulen and into Ridglea.

Fire crews from Benbrook and Fort Worth responded to a home on South Timber Court in the Timbercreek neighborhood, located behind the golf course. Early findings indicate the explosion did not originate at the home but at a backyard chicken coop that caught fire.

Investigators believe the fire’s flames reached a nearby propane tank connected to an outdoor kitchen, triggering the blast. The incident prompted a full alarm response, bringing in additional Fort Worth units to help contain the fire.

Despite the force of the explosion and the wide area it was heard in, no injuries have been reported. The homeowners were not at the property at the time. Firefighters also rescued two dogs from the home without harm.

Damage appears to be contained, and crews have prevented the fire from spreading to nearby houses.

Officials continue to investigate the cause, and more information is expected as the situation develops.
