Students at Rolling Hills Elementary had a special visitor in the classroom last week.
Cody Slater, Co-Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach at Benbrook Middle High School, stopped by to serve as a guest reader for a second-grade class. The visit, hosted by teachers Mrs. Atkins and Mrs. Higgins, gave students a chance to connect with a local coach in a setting that had nothing to do with the football field.
Moments like this often leave a lasting impression on young students. A familiar face from the middle high school campus, reading a story, helps bridge the gap between campuses and reminds students that learning and encouragement can come from many places.
For Coach Slater, the visit was a simple way to support younger Bobcats and celebrate the school community.
