A familiar gathering place in Benbrook is inviting the community to come together for a day focused on helping neighbors.
The Benbrook Community Center YMCA recently participated in the YMCA Day of Giving, a nationwide effort that encourages local support for programs that serve children, families, and seniors. Ys across the country participate in the annual event, but the impact of each donation stays within the local community.
For more than a century, the YMCA has helped people build stronger connections, improve their health, and find support through community programs. Local leaders say those efforts continue because neighbors step up to help one another.
Funds raised through the Day of Giving help provide scholarships and access to programs for families who may not otherwise be able to participate. That includes youth programs, wellness opportunities, and services for older adults.
