Western Hills boys soccer delivered a statement Friday night.
In district play against Young Men’s Leadership Academy, both JV and varsity walked away with decisive wins, combining for 11 goals and two clean sheets.
The JV squad completed a perfect first round through District 7 4A with a 4-0 victory, finishing 7-0 in district and 11-4 overall.
Douglas Cova led with two goals, while Adam Jupiter and Sebastian Iriarte Mendoza added one each. Goalkeepers Manuel Velazco and Kelvin Zapata Salazar anchored the defense for their third straight shutout and fifth in the last six matches.
Varsity followed with a 7-0 win.
Yeferson Tovar scored early and added another, giving him five goals in his last three games. Brayan Lopez netted two, while Stiven González Díaz, Kenner González Díaz, and Elian Herrera each found the back of the net. Herrera’s goal marked his first at the varsity level after a strong JV run.
Varsity now stands at 7-9 overall and 3-5 in district play.
The focus now shifts to Senior Night at home against district-leading Eastern Hills. JV kicks off at 6:20 pm, followed by a halftime ceremony honoring seniors. Varsity takes the field at 8:00 pm.
With momentum building and pride on the line, the Cougars will look to keep the energy high in front of their home crowd.
