At Western Hills High School, effort does not go unnoticed. This week, three Cougars earned recognition for how they represent their teams and campus.
Senior Vivian Hernandez was named Female Athlete of the Week for softball. Hernandez continues to anchor the program with steady play and senior leadership. Whether she is making routine plays look easy or stepping up in key moments, her consistency has set the tone early in the season.
On the boys side, junior Ricardo Tellez earned Male Athlete of the Week honors for soccer. Tellez has been a strong presence on the field, helping drive the Cougars’ attack and competing with confidence in district play. His work rate and awareness have made an impact on both ends of the pitch.
Coach Tyler Sutton was recognized as Coach of the Week for softball. Sutton’s guidance has helped shape a disciplined and focused team culture. The results show up in the details, from preparation to execution.
Athletic Coordinator Blake Moilan shared congratulations to each of them, highlighting the pride Western Hills takes in its athletes and coaches.
Moments like these matter because they celebrate more than stats. They reflect commitment in practice, leadership in the locker room, and the everyday effort that often goes unseen.
For Western Hills and the Benbrook community, it is another reminder that strong programs are built on people who show up and do the work.
