After opening the Bridgeport Basketball Tournament with a win, the Western Hills Cougars were back on the floor last night chasing another victory.
Standing in their way was a tough, disciplined Mineral Wells Rams squad that made every possession count.
Western Hills stayed within striking distance and competed with confidence, but Mineral Wells slowly pulled away and closed the night with a 58-44 win. The score did not fully reflect the Cougars’ effort, who showed grit against a skilled and well-coached opponent.
Now sitting at 4-12 on the season, the Cougars turn the page with a short break to rest and regroup. The focus shifts quickly to district play, which begins at home in the new year when Western Hills takes on the Carter-Riverside Eagles at 7:30 pm.
For local fans, it is a reminder that growth often shows up before the wins do, and this group continues to put in the work as the games ahead start to matter even more.
