Before tossing out your fall pumpkins, consider putting them to good use.
The Zend, a local nonprofit farm animal sanctuary in Fort Worth, is collecting leftover pumpkins to feed their rescued animals this season.
The sanctuary, home to animals like pigs, tortoises, and donkeys, uses donated pumpkins as nutritious snacks and enrichment treats. Residents can drop off pumpkins at 10228 Jack Creek Ct., Fort Worth, TX 76126.
To keep the animals safe, The Zend asks that all pumpkins be free of mold, paint, dyes, or coatings.
This small act of giving helps support the sanctuary’s mission of caring for rescued farm animals and promoting sustainable, compassionate living.
