Cougars End Season with Football Heartbreaker.

It was a tough night under the lights for the Western Hills Cougars as they wrapped up their season with a narrow 36-34 loss to Carter-Riverside. After dominating the Eagles in their last matchup, the Cougars fell just short this time in a hard-fought game that came down to the final minutes.

The loss marks the fourth in a row for Western Hills, closing their season at 2-7 overall and 1-5 in district play. Despite the outcome, the team showed grit and determination, with seniors giving it their all in their final game as Cougars.

Carter-Riverside’s strong ground game ultimately made the difference, led by standout performances from Bobby and Deandre Fields, who combined for more than 370 rushing yards.

Though the scoreboard didn’t reflect the heart of the team, Western Hills fans and coaches alike praised the players for their fight and resilience throughout the season.
