This past Sunday was one for the books as Benbrook’s Cosmos FC stepped onto the pitch for its first-ever United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) match.
Though the debut ended in a 5–1 loss to Allegiance Academy, the day carried far more meaning than the scoreboard revealed.
For the players, it was a chance to test themselves at a higher level, showing grit and heart from start to finish. For the community, it was proof that Benbrook has what it takes to host competitive soccer on a bigger stage.
The match was made possible through the support of sponsors, the hard work of volunteers, and the energy of fans who filled the stands with hometown pride. While the road ahead promises more challenges, Cosmos FC sees this first outing as a foundation to build on.
The season has only just begun, and Benbrook’s newest team is determined to grow stronger with every match. For residents who turned out to cheer, it’s clear the journey is just getting started.
