The annual Guns & Hoses softball game lit up the Benbrook ball fields last night, and while the Fire Department brought plenty of spirit, the Police Department brought the bats.
Final score: Guns 20, Hoses 1.
The crowd, however, was the real winner. Families enjoyed great food, friendly service, and a night filled with laughter and community pride. Hosted by the Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball Association, with Pinnacle Bank Texas as the title sponsor, the event once again proved why it’s a local favorite. Beyond the scoreboard, the true victory came from the funds raised to support youth sports.
As for the Fire Department? They reminded everyone they may have stumbled at the plate, but when it comes to saving lives and stopping fires, they’re still undefeated. And word is they’re already plotting a comeback for next year’s rematch.
Meanwhile, Benbrook Youth Baseball and Softball opened its season with a bang. Parents and players can relive the action and share opening day photos for a chance to win $10 at the concession stand this Saturday.
