The Benbrook City Council will meet Thursday, September 18, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at 911 Winscott Road. Residents are encouraged to attend and share comments before council members tackle a packed agenda that touches on the city’s finances, taxes, and infrastructure.
First up, council will review minutes from the September 4 meeting before turning to reports from the city manager. Key items include:
- Finance Report for August 2025 – covering revenues, expenditures, and sales tax trends.
- FY 2025–2026 Budget Ordinance – approval of next year’s operating figures.
- Ad Valorem Tax Rate for 2025 – setting the property tax levy.
- Tax Revenue Ratification – formalizing revenue outlined in the new budget.
- Railroad Crossing Safety Upgrade – an agreement with TxDOT to fund improvements at Winscott Road’s rail crossing.
The council will also consider a contract for the Low Water Crossing Improvement Project, aimed at addressing flooding and safety at known trouble spots.
As always, time will be set aside for informal citizen comments, followed by closing remarks from council members and staff.
