A recent coyote sighting yesterday evening along Castle Peak Bend near the under-construction Ventana West phase has stirred up some local buzz.
A resident reported seeing four coyotes just beyond a backyard fence, a clear sign that wildlife and new development are overlapping once again.
As homes are built, natural habitats are pushed back. It’s not unusual for animals like coyotes to wander closer to neighborhoods as they become more accustomed. While the sight can be startling, it’s also expected.
Residents are urged to stay alert, especially during early morning and evening hours when coyotes are most active. Keeping pets indoors during those times can go a long way in avoiding unwanted run-ins.
Wildlife may be watching from the brush, but as long as we give them space, they’ll typically keep theirs too.
