Benbrook, the Cougars are on fire.
Western Hills High School’s softball team made quick work of the Dunbar Wildcats, shutting them out in just four innings with a commanding 16-0 win. The Cougars showed up strong at the plate and even stronger in the circle, leaving no doubt who owned the diamond.
Addi was the star of the show, throwing a dominant no-hitter with 10 strikeouts and putting in work at the plate—going 3 for 3 with a double and 3 RBIs. She wasn’t alone in the offensive explosion. Eva Almendarez scored twice, Aleah Gonzalez stole three bases and notched two hits, and Taylor Torres blasted a triple to help seal the victory.
Before first pitch, the team honored Cougar Corner volunteers for their steady support throughout the season—a well-deserved recognition on a night filled with Cougar pride.
With momentum on their side, the Cougars are looking sharp as they roll through the season. Let’s keep showing up and cheering them on, Benbrook. Go Cougars!
